Christmas is upon us and soon we will start watching the same old classic holiday films.
But what about the other, more... alternative holiday films?

Here's some of my favorites, non holiday - holiday films!

Gremlins (1984)
You know the drill: don't feed them after midnight...
Picture
Edward Scissorhands (1990)

The romantic Tim Burton tale is a holiday must!
Picture
American Psycho (2000)
Before the wider audience knew Christian Bale from his role as Batman, before Dexter came to our lives, there was another beloved serial killer named Patrick Bateman...
American Psycho is an alternative anti-hero movie, with a bit of holiday spirit in it!

Picture
The Nightmare Before Christmas (1993)
Another Tim Burton film (as a writer this time), this is an anti-Christmas movie, a personal holiday favorite!
Picture
Die Hard (1988)
A cult holiday classic! The tank top, the ridiculous lines, Alan Rickman as the world's greatest villain. I rest my case.
Picture
Batman returns (1992)
Again a Tim Burton film. The second film from the Batman series, gives us a not so jolly image of the holiday season...
Picture
Scrooged (1988)
A cheesy twist of the classic Charles Dickens tale, this 80s classic is a perfect choice if you want to stay in the holiday spirit!
Picture
Blackadder's Christmas Carol (1988)

Last but not least is TV movie - the 1988 Christmas special by Blackadder. A twisted, cunning version of the Dickens tale....
Merry Christmas fellow film nerds!!

    Her Dudeness

Ever since I first set foot on a cinema theatre, I knew that something magical was happening there....

It's this thrill of somehow becoming (even for a little while) part of the other people's lives -  from different countries, times, cultures.

It's watching Marlon Brando in "The Godfather", it's singing "Shout!" at the tonga party in the "Animal House", it's Brad Pitt screaming "What's in the box?" at "7seven", it's overall the feeling that somehow "you're not in Kansas anymore"...
