We're baaaack!! Vacation's over, school's going to start soon and what will keep us from depression and not asking someone to "wake us up when September ends" are the following: 1. Woody Allen's new film "Magic in the moonlight", is coming to theatres (in Greece) this week (28/8)! First reviews frpm the US are really good, so hopefully this will keep up Blue Jasmine's success! 2. Guardians of the Galaxy, the mostly anticipated Marvel film will (finally) come to Greece on the 4th of September! Untill then... keep calm and be Groot! ![]() 3. Sin City: A Dame to Kill For: Another comic inspired film, the sequel to 2005's Frank Miller's Sin City, this film has big shoes to fill. Unfortunatelly first signs seem that the film did not do that well in the US Box Office, let's not be ahead of ourselves though: wait until the 11th of September to have an opinion of your own.. ![]() 4. The Emmys! Tomorrow night for TV people it's Oscar night! Is Breaking Bad going to win their last Emmys? Will Game of Thrones thrive in categories other that Best Supporting Actor (my money is on Peter Dinklage)? Will Mad Men take home all 8 awards? Or will True Detective give everyone a run for their money? One thing is for sure: Seth Meyers will be an amazing host! 5. #GoodbyesSuck: Sadly tonight is the series finale of True Blood, a show that according to my humble opinion, made TV history, with its unique characters, story telling and amazing performances. Few times can a sci-fi drama cast be so exquisite. I am pretty sure that there will be a post after watching the season finale (I cannot help it) but until then, let's see how it all started. 6. Series and seasons premieres: well most series return/start on October, but some shows such as The Knick (started in August), Doctor Who (just premiered with the 12th Doctor) and Gotham (September 22) will mark the beginning of the fall TV season! ![]() 7. Athens International Film Festival 2014: And of course, September means, time for the Athens International Film Festival, which this year marks its 20th anniversary! Lots of film premieres, special screenings and guest appearances, will be just a few of the happenings! The full festival calendar will be released shortly at http://en.aiff.gr/! So drop that summertime sadness, cause there are lots of things to be looking forward to this late summer-early fall!
