With an opening monologue by this year's host Patrick Neil Harris and many other legendary hosts of the past, along with a remarkable - machiavellian - addition by the "House of Cards" Kevin Spacy, the 65th Emmy Awards kicked off last night, of what proved to be a Breaking Bad night. Yes, as you can tell by the look of the stars of the show, it went away with major Emmy wins: Best Drama Series & Best Drama Supporting Actress. But not only the Breaking Bad family had reasons to laugh; Modern Family was awarded the other major award of the night: Best Comedy Series - for a second year in a row. The best actor awards in Drama Series were awarded to Jeff Daniels for the Newsroom and Claire Danes for Homeland. The Best Actors awards for comedy were given to Jim Parsons for Big Bang Theory (Bazinga!) and the former Seinfeild star Julia Louis-Dreyfous for Veep. The Supporting Actors awards in a Drama Series were awarded to Anna Gunn for her work in Breaking Bad and Bobby Cannavale (recently seen in Woody Allen's Blue Jasmine) for Boardwalk Empire. The comedy actors awarded for their Supporting parts were Merrit Wever for Nurse Jackie and Tony Hale for Veep - even though to my opinion this should be given to Bill Hader for his amazing job in SNL all those seasons! Behind the Candelabra, the controversial film by Steven Soderbergh about Liberace's last ten years, dominated the Mini Series or Movie category with 11 wins in total. Among others, Best Actor for Michael Douglas, Best Mini Series or Movie and Best Direction. Douglas accepted the award with one of the funniest, "spiciest" speeches in Emmy history with plenty sexual jokes towards his co-star Matt Damon : "So, you want the bottom or the top?" The other big award went to Laura Linney for The Big C: Hereafter (Best Actress in a Mini Series or movie). So, until next year, let's watch Matt Damon blushing and laughing to Michael Douglas' dirty propositions...

It is only in an event such as Comic Con San Diego, that fans from rival comics, TV nerds, Sci-fi nerds and Marshmellows, can gather and together, in prosper and peace, celebrate their favorite shows and films. So, which Veronica Mars team are you on?
